January 8th, Thursday night featured Morton’s varsity wrestler lineup filled with seniors. JV and Freshmen wrestled and set the stage for varsity to take the lead, with a beautiful yet almost heartbreaking walkout of our incredible seniors who have built their status and the strength of their team over their years wrestling. Seniors were announced walking down the gym with their parents, all holding posters of their favorite pictures during the season with their beloved family and friends.
After commemorating our dear seniors and even alumni who came to show their love and appreciation for their younger teammates, all wrestlers formed a tunnel line with We Will Rock You playing, as varsity ran down the tunnel and onto the mats to perform their pre-match ceremonial callout warmups. As they counted, “Mustangs on Three, Family on Six,” they grouped up in the center under the spotlight; Varsity lined up after by weight order.

Starting from the lowest weight, 106, was varsity starter Angelo Alcantar, Sophomore. 113 was the next weight; varsity starter Tristan Rodriguez, Senior. Next was 120, varsity starter Jose Berrios, Senior. After was varsity 126, Nicolas Jaramillo, Senior. Varsity 132: Bryan Aceves. Varsity 138: Brendon Rodriguez. Varsity 144: Jaden Rodriguez. Varsity 150: Jose Martinez. Varsity 157: Damien Marillo. Varsity 165: Daniel Gonzalez. Varsity 175: Santiago Moya. Varsity 190: Isaiah Lara. Varsity 215: Benjamin Kearns.
