If you live in Chicago and you’re into music, then you’ve definitely heard of Riot Fest. One of the city’s largest music festivals, Riot Fest started in 2005 as a small punk and rock music festival; over the years, it has become one of the most popular music festivals held in Chicago. But the festival didn’t really take off until 2012: it was all independently run until organizers moved it to an outside venue allowing more people to go, as well as the addition of carnival rides. Riot Fest is held over a three-day period and draws music fans of all types, including students from Morton, of which I am one. Green Day was one of the headliners this year, and fans – including myself and my friends – waited hours just to get as close as possible to their stage in order to get the view.
Here’s a gallery of snapshots from day three of the festival!
