Ya know what really grinds my gears?
Being sick and feeling like you are dying. Lets say you just got home, it’s a Friday. Got back from being outside or at somewhere like school. Ya already have your weekend laid out, you go and hang with a friend or go on a trip to somewhere fun or just planning on enjoying your week playing games and sleeping in. Then suddenly you feel tired and you’re sore all over and your nose feels weird: it’s stuffed.
BAM! You’re sick, and now you can’t do anything you were hoping to do. Stuck in bed, you want to sleep but ya can’t because your nose is stuffy and runny at the same time so it’s hard to breathe, your eye is also leaky and won’t stop but ya can’t wipe your eye because you already wipe your nose with the same hand. Just a very sucky way to be. Why did it have to be on the weekend, by the time you feel better you will have to be back at school and it would have all been a WASTE OF TIME.
Now being sick sucks for a lot of us: ya don’t want to miss a day of school because of a friend or because ya know you’ll have to have to do twice the work ya missed, and for some reason things happened when you weren’t there and you end up missing out. Also, you just stuck in bed most of the time which is not bad, get to be on the phone or play games. Mom will come and bring you some warm food to eat. Like all good things, though, it comes at a cost: that cost being you feel really bad and miserable, plus with having to take some nasty tasting medicine and just feeling like you are on your death bed, and ya need to write your will. And with everything being on computers it’s not like you can actually skip out on doing work. You are treated like royalty, but no one would come close or touch you with a 10-foot pole.
OH AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF “SICKNESS.” First, you got your common cold, you’ll be home for a day or two and it will suck, but overall you’ll be fine: runny nose, nasal congestion, body aches, sneezing, and a sore throat. Also having a fever isn’t so bad either because it serves a function at least, raising the temperature of the body to fight off infections. NOW, the flu is one whole other story. It’s hot then cold, your throat hurts so much you cannot even talk, swallow, or breathe at all. Your body hurts more and not in a “you worked out for more than two hours” and more like a “this is it, then.” I could go on and on about being sick but everyone has gone through it, just remember if you do feel sick take some time off to rest and get better. Because if not, you will feel like your gears are all worn out.
ALSO DON’T COME TO SCHOOL IF YOU’RE SICK! IT JUST MAKES IT WORSE.
And that’s what really grinds my gears. Stay tuned for more!
