GREAT AMERICA!?!? Yes, please.
Morton High School is hosting a special event for all of its classes this year. Six Flags: Great America will be open to all Morton Students only on May 6, 2023 from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. That means you don’t need to sweat about lines or Fast Passes, but there are some requirements you must meet first. Students must be on-track to graduate or enrolled in NS classes that would get them on track. Students are required to maintain at least 90% attendance – this includes academic support classes. Students also cannot have received loss of privileges or major behavior consequences resulting in an Out of School Suspension.
For those who meet the requirements, the park will be open to them from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. The price for tickets will be $75.00, which includes admission, a buffet meal (from 10pm-Midnight), as well as parking. Tickets went on sale Jan. 16, 2023. Unfortunately, season passes cannot be used on the day of the trip, so for those who own a season pass, you will still have to buy a ticket. The event will be on May 6th, 2023. According to the Morton West Announcements, if anyone needs a permission slip and is eligible to attend, they should visit Mr. Dugan in his office to pick up a permission slip.
Students are excited to go to Six Flags, and are eager to ride the Goliath, along with the other rides Six Flags has to offer. But the thing that seems to thrill students is that they get to go to the park at night, and they have it all to themselves. It is an opportunity for them to hang out with friends overnight, with the park open only to them. Ahtziry Vega, a Senior, thinks that is a good idea to have the park open but only to seniors. She thinks there should be more activities like this, ones that maybe are exclusive to seniors.
