District 201 Celebrates Black History Month
March 24, 2022
Each February on the calendar marks an important milestone in United States history: the celebration of Black History Month. President Gerald Ford officially granted federal recognition of Black History Month in 1976, noting that it gave every American a chance to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”
As part of that recognition, students and staff at J. Sterling Morton District 201 organized and produced a virtual assembly video for Black History Month 2022.
